Genshin Impacthas a vast story and an enormous world to explore. The history of its main location, Teyvat, can be found until a few thousand years back, with the tragedy 500 years ago being the center of the storyline.

In this fantasy world, each of the seven regions is led by one of the seven Archons. Some of these Archons gained their seat by winning the Archon war, while some others inherited them from gods that retired or passed away. Of course, as a deity with a direct connection to Celestia, these gods would have extraordinary power. So when it comes to the strongestGenshin Impactcharacters, they’d easily be included on the list.

Before then, though, players can refer to this updated article for a list of some strongest characters in the lore whose name is familiar to most enthusiastic Travelers, including the now-not-so-bad Scaramouche and the legendary Rhinedottir.
10Tartaglia
One of the deadliest warriors in Teyvat,Childe, the eleventh of the Fatui Harbingers, is theTsaritsa’s weapon of war. He honed his skills in combat when he fell into the abyss and was trained bySkirk, an exceptional swordswoman (asAjaxdescribes her).
In the story,Childe was able to resurrectOsialfrom his slumber, a defeated God who can raise Tsunamis and wipe Liyue from existence. He was also plotting to steal Morax’s Gnosis, a daring move against an Archon. Only a truly powerful warrior would dare do such a task.
9Scaramouche
The coldRaiden Shogunplayers meet when they arrive in Inazuma was later revealed to be nothing but a puppet to the actual Electro Archon,Ei. In the early making of this puppet, Ei createsScaramouche. She felt that this puppet is too gentle to act as her persona, but instead of destroying him, the Archon instead decides to let it roam freely in the world as their own person. Sadly, for Scaramouche, this was taken as an act of betrayal.
Scaramouche has gone through a lot of cruel experiences in his lifetime. Succeeding the experience of multiple betrayals, he eventually joined the Fatui and got enhanced, likely mechanically. Later on, he further tries to upgrade himself by proclaiming the position of a god using Akademiya’s help and Ei’s Gnosis. After understanding his terrible deed, he decides to change the fate of those who was wronged and ended up erasing himself from the Irminsul, which means he now never existed (sadly he also failed to change anyone’s fate).
Although Scaramouche has no crazy deed that changes landmarks or buries gods in lances of spears, he still breaks walls that mortals can never comprehend.
8La Signora
La Signorais commonly known for her persona asThe Fair Ladyof the Fatui, but she has a darker past hundreds of years ago. Once upon a time,Rosalynewas a typical girl from Mondstadt who enrolls in the Akademiya. She has a lover calledRostam, whom she left when she went for her study.
After returning to her hometown, she learned that her lover died battling monsters of the cataclysm. Drowned in grief, she turned into theCrimson Witch of Flamesand set monsters ablaze. She never hurt people, but they grew fearful of her and her power. Before she ends up dying to her own flames, Rosalyne was recruited into the Fatui, and a Cryo Delusion was bestowed upon her to suppress her fire.
7Dainsleif
TheTwilight Sword,Dainsleif, is a mysterious character that knows a lot of what’s going on in Teyvat. When the Traveler meets him for the first time, Dainsleif knows everything the Traveler went through, although he wasn’t physically there during all those disasters. He was also involved in the fall ofKhaenri’ah.

Unlike othercharacters inGenshin Impact, Dainsleif manipulates another form of elemental energy. Most fans refer to it as a dark element since he can create a black-blue, galaxy-colored aura in his hand.
6Alice
Also known as the Legendary Adventurer,Aliceis a character that doesn’t seem to have any self-control over her curiosities. She is also often described as a person who doesn’t think of consequences, which can clearly be seen when she developed a plan and luredeveryone who took care ofKleeinto theGolden Apple Archipelago. There, Alice prepared the islands with all kinds of puzzles and “fun” games for everyone to enjoy.
Alice’s origin, age, and abilities are unknown, but the Traveler can get glimpses of her power and personality during their travels all over Teyvat. She is also friends withRhinedottir; the alchemist known as Gold, who createdAlbedoandDurin, and was one of the main reasons for the fall ofKhaenri’ah. In short, while little is known about Alice’s ability, her connection, influence, and legacy show that she’ll be a person of great power.
5Xiao
An ancient warrior who fights gods as a daily routine,Xiaois an Adeptus who purges eviland defends Liyue against danger. His exact age is unknown, but it is known that he fought on Rex Lapis’s side during the Archon War over 2000 years ago. Among the five foremostYakshas,Xiaois the only survivor, while the rest either succumbed to corruption or died at the hand of another.
At a younger age, Xiao was controlled by a god who used him as his bloodhound. Many died in his hands until his god was defeated by Rex Lapis during the Archon War. The Geo Archon then liberated Xiao from his suffering and gave him his name. As a result, the Yaksha dedicated his life to defending Liyue and its people.
4Rhinedottir
Also known by her aliasGold,Rhinedottiris infamous for her nickname, theGreat Sinner. It’s said that she was one of the causes of the destruction of Khaenri’ah. This is due to her dangerous pursuit of knowledge, especially in the Art of Khemia.
Rhine has surpassed the knowledge that normal people would have as she successfully creates beings that are alive, most notably Riftwolves, Durin, Albedo, and Albedo’s evil twin. Gold’s current whereabouts is unknown, but before she left her final creation, Albedo, she asks him to find the truth of this world.
3Venti
The Anemo Archon,Barbatos, protected Mondstadt for thousands of years. Although considered the weakest among the Archons, he still possesses an Archon-level power. When he helped take downDecarabianand ascend to godhood,Ventiwas able to reshape the landscapes of the entire region and made it into the Mondstadt known today.
Venti doesn’t rule Mondstadt, though, instead, he gives its people the freedom to deal with their matters. But in times of danger, Mondstadt can always feel safe in his protection as Barbatos would defend the city against all kinds of evil. One of his recent battles was againstDurin;Venti called for his friendand loyal dragon,Dvalin, and they slayed the dragon together. Durin’s skeleton now remains visible in Dragonspine where the area now knows a never-ending winter.
2Ei
The Electro Archon rules all of Inazuma with a promise of never-ending eternity. While there are threeRaidensavailable in the story,Raiden Eiis the strongest among them. Ei and her sisterMakotoruled Inazuma as one Raiden, where Makoto took care of politics and laid down the laws, while Ei defended Inazuma from danger and fought Raiden’s battles.

The centuries of wars and battles earned Ei an unimaginable amount of experience on the battlefield. One example of her massive core strength is her legendary battle withOrobashi, where Raiden Ei split an entire island as she slays the serpent.
1Zhongli
The Geo ArchonMoraxstepped down from ruling Liyue and left its destiny in the hands of the mortals. In Liyue, people refer to Morax as theGod of Warbecause of the number of deities buried under the soil of Liyue, defeated by Rex Lapis and his Adepti army. One of the buried gods isOsial, whereZhongli hurls spears down at the ancient deity, pinning him down in a deep slumber under the islands now known as Guyun Stone Forest.
Zhongli alone with his power, knowledge, and experience is a person to be feared by all other characters inGenshin Impact.
