There are also plenty of older mods for games that have been out for a long time, and yet thebest Game of Thrones modsremain great, having been perfected over the years. Some of the best GOT mods, such as CK3: AGOT, also receive regular updates, ensuring that fans of the franchise can return to such mods for different experiences.
The Game of Thrones Coat of Arms mod forManor Lordsmay not be the biggest, but it is nonetheless a nice addition for those who lovethe sigils fromGame of ThronesandHouse of the Dragon. This is because it allows players to choose from 10 popular House sigils to be permanently displayed at the top of the screen. For those who are unaware,Manor Lordsis a medieval city-building game with RTS features, where players start by building a small village that can expand into a thriving town connected by trade to their other settlements.
Just like the lands of the Seven Kingdoms, however, trouble and war are constantly brewing inManor Lords. This means that players will need to call their men to war, and once their banners have been raised, they will notice that their newly installedGame of Thronessigil is not only present in the top right corner but also proudly displayed on every banner, fluttering in the wind.
Grand Theft Auto 5is one of the biggest names in the gaming world, andGame of Thronesis easily one of the most well-known TV shows. In the Game of Thrones Pack forGTA 5, these two goliaths collide for hilarious results, with players able to take on the roles of Tyrion Lannister or Daenerys Targaryen.
If players have ever wanted to parachute out of a helicopter as the Imp of Casterly Rock onto the warm sands of Vespucci Beach, then this is the mod for them, and upon landing, Tyrion can whip out a rocket launcher in place of his trusty crossbow. More incredible, however, is the ability to ride Drogon as Daenerys, in a game where players are more accustomed to flying around in fighter jets than on dragon back.
Blade & Sorceryis a VR-only game that uses a physics-based combat system to allow players to live out their medieval fantasy dreams. This makes it perfect forGame of Thronesmods, of which the game boasts plenty. For example, players can download two great map mods that will see them test their skills at Castle Black or inside Daznak’s Pit.
There are also weapon mods available that allow players to wieldiconic swords, such as Jon Snow’s Longclaw. Lastly, there are also mods for armor sets fromGame of Thrones, including those that are worn by the Kingsguard, the Night’s Watch, as well as individuals such as Robb Stark and the Hound. By combining these mods, players can fully reenact their favorite scenes.
Despite its age,Total War: Medieval 2remains a great strategy game, allowing players to relive iconic battles from the Middle Ages, such as the Battle of Agincourt. Additionally, with the help of theWesteros: Total Warmod, players can also recreate battles that took place in Westeros.
The mod features dozens of customized units with instantly recognizable sigils proudly flying from banners or painted onto shields. Outside of the battles for which theTotal Warseries is best known, players can also enjoy trying to conquer all seven kingdoms and more. TheAge of Empiresfranchise was one of the original driving forces for the strategy genre, with players building up their civilizations from scratch in real time. AsAge of Empires 2is set in the Middle Ages, it makes it the best of the bunch for aGame of Thronesmod, and this idea has been released with Age of Thrones.
This mod adds 19 playable civilizations from the world ofA Song of Ice and Fire, with most of the factions having their own unit types decked out in the colors of themost prominent Houses from Westeros. Some factions even have their own buildings, as well as technologies and heroes, which slightly alter the gameplay. Beyond iconic Houses, players can also take on the role of the Night’s Watch, the Brotherhood Without Banners, or even a Dothraki Khalasar.
Just like its successor, the originalMount & Blade: Warbandalso features its ownGame of Thronesmod, known as A Clash of Kings, which is the title of the second book, the setting for the mod.
This colossal total conversion mod features a map that covers all of Westeros and part of Essos, and inhabiting these lands are over 20 factions, lords and ladies, mercenaries, and otherruthlessGame of Thronescharacters. With over 1000 unique objects, custom quests, storylines, and events, this is one of the most completeGame of Thronesmods for fans to enjoy. It is also one that players can enjoy with their friends.
While theGame of Thronesmod forCrusader Kings 2is not as good as its successor forCrusader Kings 3, CK2 AGOT is still a great experience and even has some benefits. The first of these is that, whileCK2no longer sits at the top of the list ofbest grand strategy games of all time, it is now free-to-play, meaning that anyone with a PC can enjoy the mod.
The other benefits have to do with the fact that this mod is complete, whereas its successor is still in the early stages of its life. This means that players can not only play in Essos but also on different timelines, as there are many start dates available.
It is no surprise thatSkyrim, the game that issynonymous with mods, features its own range ofGame of Thronesmods. Over the years, many have been made, from small mods that add just a few items like shields or other weapons to companion mods and much larger overhauls.
One of the best mods is theGame of Thrones - Immersionmod, which adds over 120 unique items to the game, including clothing and interior decoration. With this mod installed, players can fully immerse themselves in Westeros, and they can, of course, tinker around with other similar mods to try and take the experience even further.
Players ofMount & Blade 2: Bannerlordare lucky enough to have access to a massiveGame of Thronestotal conversion mod that takes place during the War of the Five Kings. Depicting Westeros and beyond as seen in the TV show,Realm of Thronesexcels at bringing the aesthetics fans know and love to life. In fact, the hand-crafted armor is arguably even better than thebest armor inMount & Blade 2: Bannerlord.
Fans can become part of dozens of noble Houses, all complete with their own units that fight in accordance with their regional customs. These are all found in their correct places on the colossal map, and players will also run into iconicGame of Thronescharacters while visiting or even sacking their favorite castles.
Civilization 6is the latest installment in the illustriousCivseries and one of thebest 4X strategy games for beginners. It also features a fantasticGame of Thronesmod known as A Civ of Ice and Fire, which lets players choose a leader from the series.
Each leader has their own features and abilities just like they do in the base game, but these have been tailored to the world ofGame of Thrones. They also come with their unique troops or even dragons in the case of Daenerys Targaryen. Games are played out on maps of Westeros and Essos.
