However, while the game hasn’t received any new official content since the release of Week 7 in April, great new mods for the game are constantly being released. Rest assured, fans ofFriday Night Funkin’should have no shortage of content to play!
15VS Hex
One commonality between the various opponents inFriday Night Funkin’and its various mods is the aggressive and often abrasive nature of the opponents the player faces.VS Hexputs the player up against a lovable and endearing basketball-playing robot named Hex. In addition to featuring several backgrounds between the mod’s songs, the mod has an above-average length, coming with five brand new songs.It is available for download here.

While far from the longestFriday Night Funkin’mod,VS Garcellowas crafted with an obvious amount of love. Featuring a fully animated cutscene, this mod features a brief yet charming story that doesn’t overstay its welcome. In addition to featuring solid tracks, the mod’s difficulty is incredibly reasonable, making it a great choice for less experienced and intermediate players. 13VS CJ Starlight Mayhem
Putting the player up against several opponents rather than just one,VS CJ Starlight Mayhemis a very consistent mod. With a story that features several CGs and dialogue, this three-song mod features a variety of difficulty levels, starting out fairly simple, but progressively growing in difficulty with each track. This mod also notably features backgrounds that change over the course of a song, even featuring programmed zooms for key moments of tracks.It is available for download here.

Another mod with notable difficulty,VS Agotistands out through its solid blend of music, animation, and gameplay. In addition to sporting great tracks and featuring cutscenes, this mod features several little touches that add an extra level of polish. VS Tricky is an incredibly popular mod that puts the player up against Tricky the Clown from Madness Combat. This incredibly well-rounded mod features great music, as well as unique brand new animations. VS Tricky is most well known for its difficulty that progressively ramps up over the mod’s duration, offering a difficulty level that far exceeds anything currently found within the base game of Friday Night Funkin'.
While some may be deterred by the mod’s high difficulty level, between its musical and visual polish, out of each mod on this list, VS Tricky is one that feels the most like it could’ve been included as official content of Friday Night Funkin'.It is available for download here.
10Friday Night Funkin' Minus
Minus focuses on the skins of the game instead of trying to change any of the music in the game. The main goal of the mod was to make the characters look more like their battle icons and it manages to do this perfectly. This is an excellent mod for those dipping their toes into how modding works and for anyone who wants to give their new favorite game a visual overhaul.It is available for download here.
9Monika Mod (Doki Doki Literature Club)
Just Monika. Just Monika. Just Monika.Wait, where were we again? Oh right! This mod is inspired by one of themost influential visual novels of the last decade—Doki Doki Literature Club. Monika is known for her singing in her own title, so it makes sense to see her in a musical battle against Boyfriend inFriday Night Funkin'.

Brought to life after countless requests by fans, the Vs Whitty mod adds an entirely new week into the game where Boyfriend has to rap against Whitty in a back ally. With brand new assets, new music, and a serious difficulty spike, this mod is one anyone should pick up that really wants a challenge out of the game.
