It’s no surprise that Galactus is going to feature heavily inFortnite’s Season 4 event, considering the Season’s “Nexus War” title and theme.Fortnitehas teased Galactus in-gamenumerous times since the start of Season 4 in a variety of different ways. Recently, players could see the faint image of Galactus hurtling towardsFortnite’s map throughout the end of October with the end goal of crashing down onto the landscape. Now, it seems that this upcoming end of season event might just rival Galactus’ enormous size with the amount of content it’s bringing toFortnite.
ProminentFortniteleaker XTigerHyperX talks about just how big the file sizes that supposedly contain Galactus’ event are. Apparently, this upcoming event contains two encrypted data packages containing data for the event. One data pack contains 721 MB worth of data while the other contains about 500 MB. According to XTigerHyperX they are probably “two times bigger” than the biggest data packs that held previousend of seasonFortniteevent content. What’s more is that these two data packs are apparently compressed, meaning they are actually much bigger than they appear to be.
From the sound of things, it seems Epic Games and Marvel are going all out with this collaboration. To put things in perspective on what players may be expected of the scope of the Galactus event, anotherFortnitedataminer left a handy reply to XTigerHyperX’s tweet. The dataminer Mang0e says thatFortnite’s black hole event, which shut down the game completely and changed the layout ofFortnite’s map, was only about 150 MB in size. To say that the datamined Galactus event pack sizes eclipse that of the black hole event would be a massive understatement.
Right now,Fortniteplayers are speculating what the Galactus event has in store, while waiting for any more information that dataminers can uncover. In all likelihood, it seems like Galactus himself will make an actual appearance on the map. Additionally, it’s very likely that the resulting aftermath of Galactus arriving on the Season 4 map will change it in certain ways going into Season 5. While players still don’t know exactlywhat to expect fromFortnite’s Galactus event, it’s safe to assume it’s going to be quite the finale to Season 4.
Fortniteis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
