A recently discovered interaction inFortniteconfirms a link between Meowscles and Meow Skulls. The game continues to roll out new gimmicks alongside its now classic gameplay, from special superhero and anime moves to the brand-newslide kick, enhancing an already existing mechanic for new uses.

As is usually the case, the recentFortniteseasons have coincided with the release of new skins, both in the form of crossovers and original characters forFortnite’s internal universe. One of these is Meow Skulls, an anthropomorphic cat lady with a serious resemblance to a previousFortniteoriginal creation, and it turns out there’s a good reason.

A player who goes by SuperAlex25 on Reddit discovered that interacting with Meowscles on the map while wearing the Meow Skulls skin gives insight into their relationship. Being a relatively new skin, many players are using Meow Skulls togather Chrome Splashand fight on theFortniteislands, so it was only ever a matter of time before this came to light. According to the dialogue option when hiring Meowscles as Meow Skulls, Meowscles is actually Meow Skulls' older brother. This dialogue option only appears for Meow Skulls, so there’s no other way to interpret it.

The dialogue has Meowscles telling Meow Skulls not to worry and that she still has time to “figure it out, little sis,” telling her she will find her place. What exactly she is trying to find her place in is unclear, although it is possible he is referring to her overall outfit. Whatever sort of issues Meow Skulls is dealing with are not clear since, unlike crossover skins like therecently added Spider-Gwen, Meow Skulls has no officially revealed backstory. Her sibling relationship with Meowslces is now the most that players know about her.

It is not a real surprise that Meowscles and Meow Skulls are related, the only surprise is the nature of their familial relationship. On top of the fact that they both appear to be the same species of cat, Meow Skulls' name is almost a homophone of Meowscle’s. It’s about on par with thenew Mending Machines, so nothing out of the ordinary forFortnite.

How much interest Meow Skulls will garner is still up in the air, but being a chill goth cat, she has a chance to resonate a lot with players. Whether this will make her more popular than thenew SypherPK Icon skin, only time will tell.
