Fans can get reacquainted with some of the returning Emblems forFire Emblem Engagewith a set of bios provided by Nintendo. These bios are of three of the returningFire Emblemheroes, Marth, Celica, and Sigurd. These three were the first playable Emblems to be revealed when the game was first announced, and have consistently made appearances in trailers, tweets about the game, and more, with Marth in particular having a special connection with the protagonist, Alear.Emblems are the souls from other worlds that were summoned to the world ofFire Emblem Engage, where they were instrumental in defeating an ancient evil known as the Fell Dragon a thousand years ago. After Alear re-awakens, they discover they have come down with a case of amnesia. Shortly after, they are tasked with collecting the twelve Emblem Rings in order to restore their scattered memories, with these rings featuring iconic heroes from across theFire Emblemfranchise.RELATED:Fire Emblem Engage Gets Extensive 9-Minute Overview TrailerThese biographies were posted by Nintendo’s official Twitter account, which briefly summarizes the Emblem, their title, as well as their history.Marth’s Emblemis known as the Emblem of Beginnings, fitting since he was introduced in the first game of the franchise and is likely the first of the Emblems that will be obtained. The tweet goes to describe his history as the prince of Altea, along with his incredible swordsmanship. His friendly nature allows him to co-operate with many allies, meaning that he will work best with any unit in the army as he allows for quick and nimble sword strikes.
Following him is Celica, the kindly princess of the kingdom Zophia from a land known as Valentia, who represents theEmblem of Echoes. Since Celica is a magic-focused character who can use a variety of powerful spells, she is described as being beneficial to units who specialize in offensive magic. This is emphasized with powerful Engage Attacks such as Warp Ragnarok, an even more powerful version of her Ragnarok spell.
The last person in this biography is for Sigurd, theEmblem of the Holy War. Sigurd originates fromFire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War, where he is a noble knight that descends from a line of legendary crusaders. His Emblem Ring can be equipped by any character in Alear’s army, as any unit equipped with his ring will also be able to move further than usual. On top of that, the equipped unit can move again after attacking and retreat to a different part of the map. He also provides an Engage Weapon known as Ridersbane, which deals greater damage to cavalry units.
