Where To Unlock Melee DPS Role Quests in FF14 Dawntrail

Before the Melee DPS Role Quest is available, players must complete the level 92 Main Scenario Quest “The Feat of Pots”. Br’uk Evu, one of thenew characters introduced inDawntrail, will approach the Warrior of Light during the quest to ask for their aid, and the game will clarify that you must speak with him afterward to unlock the role quests.

He (X: 12.4, Y: 14.6) will be at the bar inXbalyav Ty’e in Tuliyollal, and interacting with him will initiate the level 90 quest"Uncouth Customers", marked with the blue content unlock symbol. After that, speak to Rral Majun near the bar to get a little more context. Another character, Raholl Ja, will appear during the conversation and introduce several new characters, who seek aid to recover their village’s relics. This will lead you to the specific NPC responsible for the Melee DPS role quests.

How To Complete The Quest ‘The Hunter And The Hunted’

The first quest for the Melee DPS role is called"The Hunter and the Hunted". This level 90 quest will be available with Shashepya (X: 11.8, Y: 14.9), a Viera NPC found outside Xbalyav Ty’e, the tavern in Tuliyollal. She will tell you about the artifact stolen from her people, a treasure called the Dreamweave Cocoon. Those who use its power can transform themselves into other people or creatures, copying not only the target’s appearance but also their power and skills.

The leads pointed to thethief running to Kugane, and the best hunter of the tribe was sent after him. The problem is that this hunter, a Viera called I’toca, has gone silent, which made Shashepya worry about her in this foreign land. Your first task is to try to find her in Kugane, and potentially lend your aid as someone who knows Doma better.

To find I’toca, head to theShiokaze Hostelryin Kugane. Speak to Shitan (X: 10.4, Y: 9.9), Haboku (X: 10.1, Y: 9.9), and Hayataka (X: 10.0, Y: 10.1) - this last one is on the upper floor. The I’toca-esque woman (X: 13.4, Y: 10.1) can be found a little to the northeast of the main aetheryte. Interact with her, and she will confirm she is I’toca, proceeding to explain what the situation is so far. The second quest will be available at level 92 with I’toca (X: 13.4, Y: 10.1) in Kugane. Called"A Sea of Blood", this questwill take you to the Ruby Sea. Interact with Shihoji (X: 31.0, Y: 36.7) and Hiun (X: 30.4, Y: 36.1), then interact with I’toca (X: 30.7, Y: 36.2) to continue.

This time, however, it will be revealed he is not the only impersonator around: the “I’toca” with you isn’t the real I’toca, as the antagonist admits to having killed her. One of the Domans also reveals more about your adversary, including that his name isSamidare, and he was conscripted to become a Garlean spy afterDoma was occupied by Garlemald.

ff14 cornered prey

Return to Kugane and meet “I’toca” where the quest started (X: 13.4, Y: 10.1). She will reveal the truth, confessing her name is Kuiyki and saying it’s her fault the Dreamweave Cocoon was stolen. Kuiyki will appear and distract you before trying to kill you - only for it to be revealed that wasn’t the real Kuiyki. As your true companion arrives, she realizes this is likely how Samidare killed I’toca. Unfortunately, the thief escapes again, and you must return to Kugane and speak with Kuiyki (X: 13.4, Y: 10.1) to finish the quest.

When he’s in the Tamamo Gozen form (which looks just like theKamuy of the Nine Tails mount), destroy the Balls of Naught that will eventually be summoned before the Nine Tails' Yoki meter is full.

After beating him, a cutscene will show Kuiyki recovering the Dreamweaver Cocoon. Speak to her (X: 11.5, Y: 11.1) near theentrance to the Bardam’s Mettle dungeon, and she’ll talk about your journey together coming to an end, asking you to meet her back in Tuliyollal.
