The multiplayer hit known asFall Guys: Ultimate Knockoutcontinues to be a success for Devolver Digital and Mediatonic. It was a surprise hit in 2020 thanks to its hectic platforming gameplay, which drew in many fans and players through word-of-mouth and Twitch streamers. The game has also seen many collaborations in the form of costumes, with properties such asTim Burton’sThe Nightmare Before Christmas,Sonic the Hedgehog, and many others represented.
Fall Guyshas seen incredible success on the PS4, partly thanks to it being a free PS Plus game at launch.Fall Guyseven managed to set a new world recordfor the most downloaded title from PS Plus while it was available. Now it seems the game will continue its success on another PlayStation platform, as some recent updates indicate thatFall Guyswill be coming to Sony’s next-gen console, the PS5.

This discovery was made by the Twitter account @PlayStationSize, where they keep track of games coming to PlayStation consoles, as well as how much space they will take up. The account found a newFall Guys: Ultimate Knockoutbeta was added to the PS5 database, complete with a game thumbnail that has the beta moniker attached.
Much like other PS4 titles,Fall Guyscan beplayed on the PS5 through backward compatibility, which benefits from the console’s Game Boost feature. This discovery however indicates that it will be native to the PS5, so that this game can benefit from additional enhancements provided from the console. The account also notes that the Beta version won’t be open to the public, so it’s possible that the PS5 native version may come sooner rather than later.
The game is currently on both PS4 and PC, along withNintendo Switch and Xbox versions forFall Guysbeing scheduled to be coming out next year.Fall Guysnow likely getting a PS5 version is possibly one reason why other versions of the game got delayed to 2022, as the developers were implementing crossplay functions for all versions of it. Crossplay itself has been a feature that the developers have been looking to include since the release ofFall Guys, so it’s likely that fans will be able to play against anyone regardless of their console at some point soon.
