Destiny 2players are pointing out a major drawback for exploration in Neomuna, a technologically advanced city introduced in the recentLightfallexpansion. AlthoughDestiny 2’s new Strand powers encourage further exploration via the use of a grapple ability, Neomuna leaves more to be desired for some players.

Destiny 2’sLightfallexpansionbrings Guardians to Neomuna in order to uncover secrets behind the Witness and combat the forces of Darkness before the arrival of another Collapse. While exploring the Neptunian city, players will harness the powers of Strand into a separate Darkness subclass. By using Strand, Hunters, Titans, and Warlocks may use telekinetic powers to unravel, bind, and execute enemies. Strand subclasses also allow Guardians to grapple onto the fabric of the universe and swing across locations throughoutDestiny 2. However, some players are pointing out a glaring drawback while exploring Neomuna in theLightfallexpansion.

A recent Reddit post by user Elevasce became a growing topic of discussion intheDestiny 2communityas players talk about their disappointment with the Neomuna cityscape on Neptune. Neomuna is full of tall skyscrapers and neon buildings, butDestiny 2players are unable to climb them with their newly acquired Strand powers. Some players expected the Neomuna play space andLightfallcampaign to feature a greater sense of verticality due to tall buildings and the use of a Strand grapple ability. Although players enjoy the cityscape’s aesthetic, some were hoping for more exploration elements within Neomuna itself.

Strand encourages players to swing around anddiscover secrets on Neomuna, but the city itself has its own limits for exploration and sightseeing. For example, someDestiny 2fans were discouraged by the use of “turn back” warnings when attempting to reach distant buildings and areas. These limits are a point of contention for players that were expecting to climb buildings and hop from building to building inLightfall.

Despite the drawbacks involving exploration on Neomuna,Lightfallhas many redeeming qualities such as a challenging Legendary campaign, a variety of obtainable and craftable weapons, andthe new Root of Nightmares raid. Player feedback will remain vital for futureDestiny 2content developed by Bungie, so players should continue to make their opinions heard respectfully.

Destiny 2is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
