2023 is proving to be a unique year for shooting games. Many developers are offering fresh takes that divert from the mold created by the likes ofCall of DutyandBattlefield. Among the unique projects due for release in 2023 is the third-person action gameExoprimal. The game offers a plethora of high-tech weaponry, an array of technologically-advanced battle suits, and an endless swarm of terrifying beasts from our planet’s prehistoric archives.
Exoprimalempowers players to select any of the game’s Exosuits, which fall into different categories according to their role, to protect themselves as they look to hold off against an array of ferocious beasts. Capcom has confirmed 13 different dinosaur species in the game, all of which pose different challenges and will require sharp strategy to overcome.

13Baryonyx
A single Baryonyx is terrifying to behold, let alone finding a pack of them, as is usually the case. These walking nightmares are slightly bigger than their Raptor cousins, and appear to have no problem walking straight through flame.

The Baryonyx boasts an incredibly long mouth filled with needle-like teeth, and sports some menacing claws on its hands and feet. The combination of formidable size and its tendency to rarely venture out alone make the Baryonyx a particularly nasty problem for players.
12Suchomimus
The Suchomimus is best described as a crocodile with better mobility. It will be very easy to spot, given its likeness to the modern-day dinosaur still found lurking in shallow water to this day. Sharing a croc’s long snout, menacing spine, and thick, muscular tail, these beasts are similar in size to the Baryonyx and share its knack for traveling in packs.
The Suchomimusis not bothered by cold or frost, so players will need to consider explosives or weapons that harness heat to ward off this beast’s charge.

11Deinonychus
If players can avoid being distracted bythe bold and vibrant colorson the Deinonychus, they may have a chance to make it out alive. These aerial predators are covered in brightly colored features to give them a bird-like appearance. However, there is no mistaking the razor-sharp teeth in its menacing jaw.
The Deinonychus is one of the few dinosaurs that will appear inExoprimalwith an aerial-based offense. Using its powerful feathered forearms, it is capable of leading a pack of its brethren to glide and swoop on unsuspecting victims.

10Pteranodon
Another aerial assassin, the Pteranodon is a menacing beast of the skies that soars high in the air as it searches for prey. With large wings that make it a master of aerial hunting, the Pteranodon will dive at its targets with a rock-solid beak and a pair of razor-sharp claws, perfect for slicing and tearing at its victims.
Alone, a Pteranodon is not too significant a threat, as it could easily be gunned down on account of its smaller stature and multiple weak points. Unfortunately for players, these creatures are almost never seen alone, traveling in swarms or aligning themselves with larger predators.

9Ankylosaurus
A famous herbivore often seen in a softer light on account of its dietary preferences, the Ankylosaurus is a walking tank with a near-impenetrable shell. While it won’t launch itself at targets with the intention of sinking its teeth into flesh, the armor-plated giant will easily dispatch anyone they consider to be a threat.

The Ankylosaurus uses its huge, hammer-like tail as its main source of attack, which has the capability to wipe out structures and shatter bones. Its back isincredibly sturdy and difficult to penetrate. However, if a player can get to the beast’s soft underside, they are more likely to have success in subduing the giant.
8Dilophosaurus
If one was to combine a peacock with a reptile, this is likely the result of the fusion. With a vibrantly-colored frilled neck to warn its prey, the Dilophosaurus has more than one offensive weapon at its disposal. Getting out of range of this beast’s claws won’t guarantee safety, because its unique ranged attack will do just as much damage.
On top of its menacing short-range abilities, the Dilophosauruscan also spit poison from a distance. These attacks not only deal serious damage, but also affect player vision and contaminate parts of the battlefield.

7Carnotaurus
Completely disregarding the sharp teeth that are synonymous with theropod dinosaurs, the Carnotaurus is also an agile lizard with a nasty temper. Accompanying its strong, clawed hind legs is a pair of unique horns above its eyes that are more than just a cosmetic touch.
The Carnotaurus is capable of an array of fast but powerful attacks. It will hit players with solid headbutts, monstrous strikes with its muscular tail, and deceptively fast kicks with its huge feet.

6Sinornithosaurus
While the Sinornithosaurus is perhaps the smallest prehistoric adversary inExoprimal, this pint-sized predator will feel like more than just a pest. Generally moving in large packs, the strong jaws of the creature will ensure that once it grabs hold, it is nearly impossible to shake off.
Due to the sheer volume of Sinornithosaurus in each swarm, not only will they cause damage to the player, but will also take up so much space that they can act as a barrier that needs to be overcome to be able to access certain areas on the map.

5Pachychephalosaurus
The highest-rated piece of advice one could receive when encountering a Pachychephalosaurus is to not comment on its hairline. While this creature is a herbivore and won’t devour its targets, it will still do enough damage to level any threat.

Famous for its impressively thick skull, the Pachychephalosaurus uses its genetic perk to its advantage. It will charge at foes with its bright dome directed right at them, ramming them with enough force to knock them backward, and then some.
4Raptor
Fans of theJurassic Parkfranchise will be all too familiar with Raptors, although they are not quite the same as their movie counterparts. These smaller dinosaurs travel in packs, with sleek, agile physiques accompanied by terrifying claws that can do more than just scratch.
The unique shape of their claws enable them the ability to scale walls on top of their potential for cutting through flesh like it was paper. Being capable of a prehistoric form of parkour makes them a deadly threat on more than just ground level.
