For a great number of years, fans of FromSoftware haveawaited every entry of their workwith the utmost anticipation and eagerness. Ever sinceDemon’s Souls, FromSoftware changed the gaming scene, spurring its genre of ‘souls-like’ games.Elden Ringcontinues this trend but with a higher caliber of detail, mechanics, and story.

Considering thatElden Ringhas been out for a few months now, many are eager to seewhat theElden RingDLC will beor the next game altogether. ConsideringDark Soulsreceived a trilogy, many hope thatElden Ringfollows, and anElden Ring 2will be on the table to enjoy, with several improvements.

8A Land Beyond Between

As far as open-world games go,Elden Ringissprawling with location and varietyin the Lands Between. Upon first entry into the open world, players may be overwhelmed by the sheer beauty and the ability to go anywhere. However,Dark Soulsseemed to have even more variety in location thanElden Ring.

For a sequel toElden Ring, the game should take place in an entirely new land, one that exists past earthy or snowy locations. Dedicated areas with specific weather could make for great and unique locations in a giant open world, providing players with an unfamiliar and dangerous setting that the Lands Between did.

7Plenty Of NPCs

Part of the charm of FromSoftware titles is the NPCs.Each is distinct with a great personalityand a mostly ominous laugh to end their conversations with. What makes the NPCs in these games so great is it seems that no one can just have a happy ending.Elden Ringfollows this, and many NPCs suffer during their questlines.

FromSoftware should dedicate time to making the open world feel even more inhabited through more NPCs and even give players the choice to save or help them get to a HUB world, free from danger and the signature misery that NPCs face after quests.

6Bosses, Bosses, And More Bosses

Fans are divided on one of the biggest aspects ofDark Souls 2, the bosses. InDark Souls 2, there is practically a boss waiting for a player in every room. Some enjoy this feature and the challenge that it brings for a large, intimidating enemy to test the might of a player.Elden Ringfeatures a good amount of bosses, butsome feel too copy and paste.

With a sequel toElden Ring, the game should focus equally on the main bosses as the first game does, but also put a great deal of respect into the side and optional bosses. The ones that are on the players’ way to the main course.

5Sekiro’s Parry System

One of the most satisfying gaming experiences will always be inSekiro: Shadows Die Twice. The game is FromSoftware’s attempt at a single-player, story-driven game, but one that feels equally as free and difficult as their other titles.Sekiro: Shadows Die Twicefeatures a great fighting system unique to itself.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twicehas a parry system where the player can perfectly time a parry, which is an incredibly satisfying feeling. Moreover, doing so enables them to better attack their enemies. This feature should be in all future FromSoftware games due to how precise and enjoyable it is.

4More Collaborative Writing

When it came to the process ofElden Ring, many fans were speculating on the involvement of famed fantasy writer George R.R. Martin. Martin’s work is prolific and adored for his works on the books that created the HBO show,Game of Thrones, and its prequel series,House of the Dragon. Martin’s involvement inElden Ringwas to help create the characters and the world before the Elden Ring shattered.

It’s great to see a collaborative effort between video game developers, creatives, and authors. It helps authenticate worlds that audiences may not have expected. There are plenty of opportunities to collaborate in art, and hopefully, fans see more of it.

3Bloodborne Dash

AfterDark Souls 2, FromSoftware teamed with Japan Studio and Sony Entertainment to provide players with a unique experience for the PlayStation 4.Bloodbornewas that experience. In a cursed town harboring a deadly mystery, theplayer becomes a hunter, forced to fight a never-ending night of the hunt. Armed with blades and a lot of blood, the game still has an enormous fanbase even 7 years later.

One of the best features to come fromBloodbornewas that of the dash. Players could no longer roll but instead would dash forward or backward in an easy-to-control and quick manner. This feature allowed gameplay to feel faster, with quicker and more fluid combat rather than defensive play.

2PvP Arenas

One of the many reasons that players love the FromSoftware games is for their intricate attention to combat, as well as the many different builds that players can use. Players like to test each other and what they arecapable of through PvP, a feature that seems notably absent fromElden Ring.

PvP is inElden Ring, but not to the invasive degree of theDark Soulstitles. Even in theSoulsgames, players could enter a dedicated arena and fight other players without consequence. AnElden Ringsequel should have a feature similar, so people can fight each other for fun.

1Fully Fledged Co-Op

Many gamers still crave a co-op open-world experience.Elden Ringdid its best to accommodate this, as most FromSoftware games can be run through entirely with a friend, but resetting upon the defeat of the player or thedeath of the boss.Elden Ring’s sequel should make the game fully co-op, with no need for summons.

Although the game can be played in co-op, it is somewhat limited, as Torrent, the trusty stead of the player, is unavailable in co-op. This means that traveling an open world is impossible, and the game restricts players to certain areas when they are together.
