OneElden Ringplayer manages to defeat Godfrey, First Elden Lord, at level 1 by copying his moves. Many players have either created characters from other media or from the game itself to take on the FromSoftware title, like when someone was able tocreate Itachi from Naruto inElden Ring, either to test the limits of the character creator or to even go through the game as that character’s build. It’s a good way to keep a new playthrough interesting by only just playing as that one character, utilizing everything that character would in order to succeed. One player decided to take on the First Elden Lord as the First Elden Lord.
Godfrey, the First Elden Lord, is a part of the series of boss fights near the end ofElden Ringthat lead up to the final boss fight with Radagon. Godfrey himself is a two-phase boss fight, one where you fight him as Godfrey wielding an axe, and then one where you fight him as Hoarah Loux with hisability to suplex twoElden Ringplayers at once. These couple of fights can destroy the player in an instant if they are not careful, usually by an unexpected grapple from Hoarah Loux, but Godfrey himself has a few tough attacks that can make him a worthy adversary.

That is when oneElden Ringplayer decided to take on these couple of bosses by copying them, even though the player is just level 1. In a post on r/Eldenring, user gilfordtan uploaded a video of them squaring off against the First Elden Lord wielding a large two-handed axe, similar to the boss himself. Then, once Godfrey has fallen and Hoarah Loux has taken his place, the player switches to fist weapons. They do well to dodge each of his attacks and jump over the shock waves he produces, meeting each attack with one of their own.
In the comments, other users praised the player for their ability to take on the two tough bosses at level 1, with one of them pointing out the player not getting greedy with their hits when they could’ve, waiting for better openings rather than trying to take down the giants faster. Indeed, greed is a prevalent and punished sin in manyElden Ringplayers, and being able to pull back to wait for a safer way to attack beats out the potential of being killed when one hit away from victory.
With the heavy customizability of the builds possible inElden Ring, it allows players to be able to take on their favorite bosses as their favorite bosses. With theShadow of the Erdtree expansion toElden Ringnow announced, there will only be more to add to such builds, with more possibilities being born as players are able to beat the bosses and replicate their builds.
Elden Ringis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
