7Francesca
Earliest Available Mage
Starting from the early game, players have easy access to a mage thanks to Francesca. They can recruit her in theearliest stages of the gameat the Altverden Village, after finishing the first quest. A capable mage, Francesca has the potential to be one of the strongest thanks to her unique Rune Lense, Calm Fury.
The rune enables Francesca to boost her normal attack for three turns by using 5 SP. This can come clutch in long-duration boss fights, as she will be able to unleash deadly physical attacks after running out of MP.
6Marin
Able To Heal With SP
As a dedicated mage of the party, conserving MP is sometimes crucial,especially before boss fights. The party needs a maximized amount of resources in order to be at their best before the difficult fight. Marin, as a mage, can do that by conserving her MP via her Rune of Herbal Alchemy. This enables her to heal with her SP instead of MP.
With the SP-using rune, she can unleash a deadly magical attack with her main magic rune without worrying about running out of MP. Coupled with her relatively high Magic stats, this enables her to be one of the strongest mages in the game.
5Milana
Necromancer Capable Of Handling Multiple Runes
Sometimes, mages are limited to only certain elements before a fight. Going back and forth to a runemaster in between fights is impractical, especially during a dungeon dive. However, Milana,the unique necromancer, can subvert this with her three rune slots. This makes her quite flexible in magical damage elements as needed.
Moreover, her high MP allows Milana to last quite long both in difficult fights and random encounters on the map. The flexibility and reliability of her strength as a mage makes her a perfect candidate for the party’s mainstay mage.
4Lakian Arkathies Fawud
Elf Archer Capable Who Can Be A Mage As Well
Mages are commonly known to be substandard at dealing physical damage. However, Lakian Arkathies Fawud subverts that expectation by with his fairly high Magic and Power. He can shine brightly in both random encounters and boss fights with his trusty bow as anexpert elf archer.
Lakian also has the privilege of having multiple magic rune slots, making him quite flexible in terms of rune choices before going into battle. As long as his weapon is sufficiently upgraded, Lakian will be able to dish out both physical and magic types of damage.
3Falward
A Quick, Foul-Mouthed Mage
It is sometimes frustrating to mages them act after everyone else in a battle due to their low speed attribute. However, Falward’s high Speed stat avoids this problem. He’s one of the fastest mages available relatively early in the game.
When paired with Francesca, they are able to execute a powerful Hero Combo attack, “Light and Dark Heal Combo.” This will restore HP and boost the attack power of all party members for three turns, making them very powerful when puttogether in a party.

A Magical Girl Capable Of Deadly SP Rune Lenses
The early recruitable magical girl is one of the most powerful mages in the game thanks to her huge potential. She has access to deadly rune lenses that cost SP instead of MP, to dish out huge damage to enemies. Moreover, her high Magic and MP stats enable her to carry a party through random encounters and boss fights alike.
As one of the mages withmultiple magic rune slots, Mellore is also quite flexible in terms of dealing magic damage with various element types. She has generally good affinity with most elements except for Dark, further boosting her damage type flexibility.
1Momo Gardestein
The Strongest Mage In Eiyuden Chronicle
The title of the best mage ofEiyuden Chroniclefalls on Momo Gardenstein.This magical girl’shigh Magic, MP, and available magic rune slots are some of the benchmarks he passed to be the best mage in the game. His recruitment can be somewhat tricky, but he’s worth it.
Momo’s magical power is boosted the further a battle goes on, thanks to his Rune of Magical Font. This Rune increases his magic and magic defense by 6% depending on his remaining SP. This allows him to shine the most during boss fights, as long as he conserves his SP to make use of his Rune of Magical Font.
