There have been a lot of new game reveals recently as 2020 comes to a close. Thanks toThe Game Awards 2020 announcinga bunch of new video games and game-related content coming in the future, players have a lot to look forward to in the coming year.

Now, it seems like fans may have another major game reveal to look forward to before 2021 is here. Edge magazine, the monthly video game magazine based out of the UK, is teasing a big exclusive reveal for its next issue, andHollow Knightfans are very interested.

Edge Magazine’s official Twitter account tweeted out a teaser image for the cover of its December 31 issue. The image is a basic gray image with a large, black oval shape filling a large portion of the cover. Many replies to the tweet have already started to guess what the image is teasing, with plenty of users guessing it has to do withHollow Knight’s upcoming sequel,Silksong. Users are pointing out that the teaser image’s shape closely resembles to shape of Hornet’s head, who features prominently inHollow Knight: Silksong.

For those who haven’t heard ofHollow Knightbefore, it’s a 2D soulslikegame with metroidvania style exploration.Hollow Knighthas become one of the most popular and well regarded indie titles in the last few years, with many highly praising the game’s combat, art style, and soundtrack.Hollow Knightreleased back in 2017, with the announcement ofHollow Knight: Silksongcoming two years later in 2019. However, developer Team Cherry has been silent onSilksong’s development since the initial reveal almost one year ago exactly.

As a result of Team Cherry’s ongoing silence and the fact thatSilksong’s announcement happened almost a year ago at the time of the release of Edge’s next issue, many fans think this December 31 issue will focus onSilksong. Of course, this is all still speculation as Edge likely won’t reveal the focus of the issue until the magazine’s release or the week leading up to it. Still, consideringHollow Knightwas a major indie successstory, the hype surroundingHollow Knight: Silksongis very high. It would surely be a big deal if Edge got the chance to exclusively unveil whatever Team Cherry has in store forHollow Knightfans.

Now thatHollow Knightis readily available on nearly every platform, plenty more people have had the chance to experience this wonderful metroidvania.Hollow Knightwas also one ofNovember 2020’s free PS plus gamesallowing plenty of PlayStation players the chance to play the game for the first time. Though it remains to be seen what exactly Edge’s big exclusive reveal will be, the likelihood that it’sHollow Knight: Silksongseems pretty high, all things considered.
