Summary

Destiny 2players have requested Bungie to overhaul its in-game clan system that has remained untouched in the past 6 years. Thisparticular feature inDestiny 2allows players to join a clan and play the game with teammates to earn rewards.

Thecurrent clan system inDestiny 2has existed since the game’s launch in 2017 and players were thrilled with this feature since it was a clear upgrade fromDestiny 1. However, there hasn’t been a significant update to it since then, which the community has now started to notice. The system itself seems to be robust enough where players don’t have any major issues with it, however, the fact that such an important feature is yet to receive an update has left a lot of players surprised. Owing to this, a player has come up with some suggestions for Bungie to rejig the system, so it is more rewarding for the players.

In a post on theDestinysubreddit, user Unownknight7 wrote a lengthy piece explaining why the current clan system needs an extreme makeover. They started by expressing why they thought of bringing this topic up, and also admitted their objective is to bring attention to a feature that has been overlooked for years. To help rectify this, they listed down five suggestions that they think would help in changing the system for the better. For instance, they suggested that players should get some extra masterwork materials at Rank 2, like Legendary Shards and Enhancement cores, for completing Suraya Hawthorne’s weekly challenge inDestiny 2. Next, they suggested giving additional rewards in ritual playlists for playing with clanmates at Rank 3, and also mentioned giving players additional crafted weapon XP at Rank 4.

At Rank 5, they recommended giving players the chance to get an additional Red Border weapon, and at Rank 6 they proposed giving players additional Adept weapons for completing Platinum Grandmaster Nightfalls or going flawless inTrials of Osiris inDestiny 2, all while playing with clan members. They admitted that the last one might seem a little far-fetched, but the others could be implemented with Bungie’s input to make the gameplay more rewarding. Most of the community members agreed that the clan system needed an update, and also concurred with a majority of the suggestions put forth by Unownknight7.

This is not the only element that Bungie is yet to address as it has maintainedradio silence on Gambit inDestiny 2despite repeated requests for an update. Hopefully, the clan system won’t have the same fate and will be addressed when a looking-for-group (LFG) system finally arrives in the game later this year.

Destiny 2is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
