Bugs and glitches are the norm in live service games due to the simple nature of the kind of game it is. Bringing players together online within a shared world is sure to cause some strange occurrences in-game, some good and some bad. However, the latest bug found inDestiny 2is sure to bring a smile to many guardians' faces as it restores the original, popular reload perk for theexotic armor piece, Lunafaction Boots.
Lunafaction Boots is a piece of exotic warlock leg armor introduced with the first pool of exotic armor introduced in year one ofDestiny 2. The original exotic perk allowed guardians' weapons to reload automatically when standing in an active warlock rift, making the armor piece a must-have for raids and other endgame PvE activities. Bungie reworked the exotic following the release ofShadowkeepin 2019, now boosting reload speed when guardians stood in an active warlock rift or the warlock well of radiance super.

However, it appears some guardians discovered a new bug in-game that randomly brings the popular automatic reload perk back for any warlocks wearing the armor piece. Reddit user Sir_Blyatman said in their thread the raid team they were runningVault of Glasswith randomly discovered the perk while farming one of the boss encounters, with weapons returning to full ammo without ever reloading. They point out the bug appears to be random and they could not find anything that would cause the glitch to occur. Some other users responded to the thread, saying they found the same bug and seem to corroborate Sir_Blyatman’s claim the bug is random.
It’s not the first time glitches of this sort have been found inDestiny 2given how long the game has been active, the number of updates, and expansions Bungie has released. Just recently, another bug was found inside the Vault of Glass raid byYouTuber Luckyy 10Pand his regular raid team. The team discovered the exotic rocket launcher, Two-Tailed Fox, was doing extremely high damage to the bosses in the raid and Luckyy 10P was quick to share his team’s discovery.
Bug and glitches like these inDestiny 2seem to help give some periods of the game’s life a degree of sentimentality because of the number of people taking advantage of them. Bungie typically addresses these bugs in regular patches and hot fixes, but has, at times, shown a similar degree of appreciation for the craziness which gripsDestiny 2’scommunity. One such instance wasBungie issuing emblemsfor the unplanned “laser tag” event in the Crucible when the exotic trace rifle Prometheus Lens was doing far greater damage in PvP than what was intended. A similar emblem was issued for guardians using the Lord of Wolves exotic shotgun under similar circumstances.
Destiny 2is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X.
