With a new dungeon inDestiny 2comes new loot, and although Ghosts of the Deep is undoubtedly one of the most immersive endgame experiences Bungie’s MMO has seen in a while, the early reaction to the weapons found in this dungeon has been lukewarm, to say the least.

Ghosts of the Deep, like the last two dungeons, introduces another new Origin Trait called Restoration Ritual. When players revive fallen teammates or perform finishers, the weapon gets reloaded and will receive an emergency reload the next time the magazine is empty. It’s a fairly niche Origin Trait, especially the part about reviving fallen teammates, but there are some highlights to be pulled from theweapons of Ghosts of the Deep inDestiny 2.
5New Pacific Epitaph Grenade Launcher
Many were excited to try out a Stasiswave frame grenade launcher, but unfortunately, New Pacific Epitaph just feels a little too underwhelming to be playing in the same category as Explosive Personality, let alone the good old Forbearance, or even Harsh Language. Even with options like Lead from Gold or Demolitionist in its first perk column, it doesn’t quite hit the mark for what was expected.
In the second column, for those who would still like to pair it up with some funky Stasis builds, look for options like Adrenaline Junkie that do generally well in PVE. What puts it above some of the other great wave frames is its position in the Kinetic slot, but time will tell if this will be enough.
4No Survivors SMG
Unbelievable but true, aftera reign of terror led by SMGs, one ends up at towards the bottom of a ranking. On top of the nerfs SMGs took just recently, the perk pool and stats of the No Survivors Solar SMG just fall a little too short of putting it any higher than this on the list. Sure, it’s an SMG, which means it requires no special ammo and is quite versatile, but with better options in the game, it likely won’t be anyone’s first pick by a long shot.

Demolitionist in the first perk column is an interesting option for those who enjoy grenadier builds, and Incandescent in the second is easily a favorite for those who would like to pair with a Solar build centered around scorch. Otherwise, this weapon is passable, losing tothe likes of the Calus Mini-Tool.
3Greasy Luck Glaive
Glaives are not in a good place in terms of archetype power, but Greasy Luck isn’t the worst of the worst. It’s a Solar glaive, competing with the likes of Lubrae’s Ruin, so it does have big shoes to fill. And while it can’t beat the Souldrinker Origin Traitfrom the Vow of the Disciple raid, it still has some okay perks that are passable for players eager to whip out a glaive in PVE while on Solar subclass.
Lead from Gold is an absolute must-have in PVE, so it practically claims the first column with ease, winning just slightly over Judgment of Kelgorath in that sense, which has Demolitionist as an option. In the second perk slot, Incandescent is fantastic for Solar subclasses. Glaive users, though a minority of the player base, shouldn’t ignore Greasy Luck thanks to these perks.
2Cold Comfort Rocket Launcher
A Stasis rocket launcher, it suffers a similar fate to most of the other weapons on this ranking—it fails to compete with already existing weapons in the game. The main problem comes from its lack of good perks in the first perk column, with Tracking Module or Envious Assassin being the closest to something that could be good in PVE.

In the second column, powerhouse perks like Chill Clip, Bait and Switch (which was highly anticipated for this weapon), Collective Action, as well as Explosive Light do give it some hope. So, for those who never got the chance to craft a Bump in the Night, Cold Comfort can be a decent Stasis rocket launcher option, given the game is stillin a rocket launcher meta. In some situations, it may even be able to compete with Apex Predator, the Solar rocket launcher from Last Wish.
1The Navigator Exotic Strand Trace Rifle
Although the Legendary weapon loot is a bit lukewarm, the Exotic is not. The Navigator is one of the most interesting weapons to have arrived in Season of the Deep, with a ton of utility packed into this Exotic Strand trace rifle. Players can shoot their allies to grant them Woven Mail, which also gives them Woven Mail in turn.
Moreover, once the Catalyst has been unlocked and upgraded, players can also use the special reload function to spawn a Grapple Tangle anywhere on the map. This is incredibly powerful for justabout any Strand subclass, and the perfect support weapon for any fireteam, whether everyone is on Strand or not.
