Dead by Daylight’s developer Behaviour Interactive appears to be working on a new multiplayer game for next-gen consoles. Behaviour Interactive is currently hard at work continuing to support its online asymmetric multiplayer horror gameDead by Daylight. It’s also working on other projects at the same time. New evidence is raising the question as to whether Behaviour Interactive is now working on what could be the planned successor toDead by Daylight.

Behaviour Interactive has not announced a new game, to be clear. It’s currently focused onDead by Daylight, as well as its previously announced but yet to be released gameMeet Your Maker. Behaviour is known to work on multiple projects at once, however. It launched three other games the same year thatDead by Daylightcame out, for example. Plus, there’s the possibility that theDead by Daylightteam could move on to something else, though there’s no indication of that at this time.

The evidence of a new project comes from recently listed job postings forBehaviour Interactive. Both projects are for an “Unannounced” Behaviour project currently in development. The first job is a Console System Programmer located at Behaviour’s Montreal office. In this listing, Behaviour requests “strong experience” with development for both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. It also asks for experience with cross-platform multiplayer game development.

A second job listing for an Online System Programmer provides further insight into what this new project could be. This job listing explicitly states in its description that the unannounced project it’s for is for Behaviour’s “next IP.” Other details confirmed in this job listing is that the game will include an “inventory, achievements, and scoreboards.” Further, it will include an in-game economy, player progression, live updates, and transactions as part of agames as a serviceplatform.

Needless to say, it sounds like Behaviour’s upcoming project will be yet another effort to recapture the success ofDead by Daylight. It’s already trying to do that withMeet Your Maker, a shooter involving base building, and it already tried it withDeathgarden, an asymmetrical FPS, but it never hurts to try again.

What kind of game thenew Behaviour projectwill be is a complete mystery. That it’ll be a live-service multiplayer game with an economy and competitive systems like achievements and scoreboards does hint that Behaviour will be tying out another shooter, though.Dead by Daylightfans will likely be hoping for a new take on what the horror game did well, but only time will tell.
