One name circling the internet is Radcliffe, as fans wish for a short actor to play Wolverine because the character is supposed to be 5'3. In an exclusive interview with ComicBook at the SXSW premiere of his newest film,The Lost City, Radcliffe expressed his gratitude for the support from the community. Still, he has little faith that Marvel Studios would choose him to follow Jackman, but he is happy for Marvel Studios to prove him wrong. The 32-year-old actor stated, “So many times, people come to me like, ‘hey man, heard the Wolverine news, that’s pretty cool.’ No, I don’t know anything about it. Like, I appreciate that somebody is going like ‘Wolverine’s short in the comic books, you should get like a short guy to do it!'”

Radcliffe expressed, “But I don’t see myself, I don’t see them going from Hugh Jackman to me. But who knows? Prove me wrong, Marvel.” Other notable fan castings to be Jackman’s successor includeSuicide Squad’s Scott Eastwood,The Punisher’s Jon Bernthal, and “short guy” Taron Egerton, who could also play a canonically correctWolverine. However, Egerton has expressed his fears of not being “grizzly enough” to play the role.

Despite Radcliffe’s remarks that Marvel has yet to reach out to him, there is no denying that the fan cast is pretty sport on. He is short enough to play Wolverine and has the messy, wild look down to an art, and his vast acting experiences, includingThe Woman in Black,Swiss Army Man, andHorns, proves that he certainly has the chops toplay The Wolverine.

While Jackman has confirmed that he has no desire to return to Wolverine, there are reports that Marvel Studios has persuaded the Australian to return as Wolverine in the upcoming MCU blockbuster,Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness of Madness, which will arrive in theaters on Jul 18, 2025.
