Moving into summer, so many movies and television series are finally announcing release dates and putting out trailers after long delays during the pandemic. Animated series and video games were at the core of this issue, but nowCrunchyrollpromises a 2021 and 2022 jam-packed full of long-awaited and anticipated new series.
Among other streaming services releasing their summer lineups, popular anime platform Crunchyroll finally released what viewers can look forward to in their summer season. They released an incredible list full of many classic and must-watch series, as well as plenty of new titles.

FollowingFunimation’s incredible summer lineup release, Crunchyroll is adding some equally exciting titles for anime fans to look forward to. The company announced brand new anime shows like the highly anticipated adventure animeFena: Pirate Princess(premiere TBD) and gritty crime-basedTokyo Revengers(airing June 26th). Some other exciting new releases include season 5 of fan-favoriteMy Hero Academia(airing Saturdays at 2:30 am PDT), new episodes of the adorableMiss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S(airtime TBD), season 2 of murder-mysteryThat Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime(airtime TBD), and new episodes of the supernaturalTo Your Eternity(airing Saturdays at 9:30 am PDT). There are also multiple releases that are still to be announced.
Plenty of new simulcasts are coming to Crunchyroll includingGirlfriend, Girlfriend(airtime TBD),Idolish7 Third Beat!(airtime TBD), season 2 ofI’m Standing on a Million Lives(airtime TBD), and the highly anticipatedPeach Boy Riverside(airtime TBD), among others that are not yet announced. The company also named some returning simulcasts includingOne Piece(airing Saturdays at 7:00 pm PDT),SD Gundam World Heroes(airing Thursdays at 3:00 am PDT), and many more. Crunchyroll’s recent partnership with Adult Swim and broadcasting platforms in Japan is allowing for more simulcasts and accessibility more than ever.

Between the Crunchyroll and Funimation, not to mention Gkidsacquiring interesting titles such asThe Deer King, it appears anime fans will have plenty to look forward to for the remainder of the year. This is all likely to be welcomed news considering all the aforementioned delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
