Following the weekly server reset,World of Warcraftplayers worldwide reported that they experienced issues with completing certain tasks that require crafting specific goods. Though the bug is inconsistent in its replication, this has left some players concerned, given that any bug with the reworked crafting system inWorld of Warcraft: Dragonflightcould have rippling effects on the game’s player-run economy. This ripple effect may be further compounded with theimminent launch ofWorld of WarcraftPatch 10.1, Embers of Neltharion, next week. In Patch 10.1, changes will be made to the crafting system to make it easier to see things in the user interface for each profession. In addition, some crafting reagents will be changed or consolidated, and new reagents will instead be used to create new weapons and armor for Season 2 ofDragonflight. However, at the time of writing, one crucial part ofDragonflight’s revamped crafting system is not working as intended.RELATED:World of Warcraft Leak Reinforces Theories About Night ElvesCurrently, the crafting orders system, which was introduced as part of theDragonflightcrafting rework, is behaving inconsistently. In short, the crafting orders system allowsWorld of Warcraftplayers to give and receive orders for specific items from other crafters, with crafting reagents provided by either the requester or the crafter. In exchange, crafters can earn a commission in gold, the game’s main currency, as well as skill points for their professions. On social media, someWorld of Warcraftplayers are reporting that they are unable to complete the crafting order that they take on, as the user interface prevents them from going past the initial crafting window.

However, a short time after the issue was reported on social media, Blizzard’s customer support tweeted that the issues are being looked into. No timetable for a fix was given at the time of writing. In light of the bug, criticism ofDragonflight’s crafting orders systemreemerged, with someWorld of Warcraftplayers commenting that crafting orders were mostly obsolete due to the introduction of new ways for players to gear up in Patch 10.0.7. However, with Patch 10.1 introducing new items and new gear for players to collect, it remains to be seen if crafting orders will pick up next week once the update goes live.

ThoughDragonflight’s crafting revamp, includingthe introduction of profession specializations, has been a long overdue change forWorld of Warcraft, it is still having some growing pains, as proven by the ongoing issues with crafting orders. But with a new update on the horizon and more items to collect, only time will tell what else Blizzard will do to further refine the system beyond the next update.
