Children of Mortais an RPG game with roguelike elements where players join the Bergson family in Mount Morta as they defend their land and loved ones against an evil Corruption that threatens them. The game is developed by Dead Mage Studio and published by 11 Bit Studios, which also publishedFrostpunk.

After its release,Children of Mortareceived new content through updates that either improved the game or added more things to it. Some of the new content came in the form of DLC, while some have been new features or even a game mode added to the game. Now, the game is adding the new online co-op feature toChildren of Morta.

Children of Mortais receiving the free “Fellowship Sanctuary” update that will add online co-op to the game and allow players to join forces together against monsters and the Corruption. Online co-op inChildren of Mortawill be available in both the Story mode andthe Family Trials game mode. Earlier today, a new trailer forChildren of Mortawas released that announced the new online co-op feature and showed what that would look like in the game.

The newtrailer forChildren of Mortastarts simply enough, with a player character encountering an enemy identified as a golem in the game. The player character faces the golem in combat multiple times but repeatedly fails trying to slay it. The trailer emphasizes that some battles require more than one person to fight in the game. After that, the trailer has the player message another player online to help them fight the golem, and the second character arrives to help.

From there, the trailer shows how much of a difference having twoplayer characters fromChildren of Mortaworking together can make inChildren of Morta. The trailer shows the two-player characters fighting against multiple types of enemies in the game and winning against all of them. Then the trailer shows the two players face off with the golem from the beginning of the video, resulting in a battle where the two work together to emerge as the victors.

Along with the new online co-op feature,Children of Mortawill be “Free to Try” for players on Steam for a limited time. According to the official Twitter account forChildren of Morta, the game will be free-to-play until Friday, February 18th, at “7 PM CET, 10 AM PT, 1 PM ET.” However, the Steam page for the game says that this ends in three days at the time of writing, so players should keep that in mind. For now, players old and new alike can join together to playChildren of Mortawith the new online co-op.
