After the latest update toCall of Duty: Modern Warfare, fans got on to play only to find that some unannounced changes had been made to the game. Pro players in particular are upset about this, especially since some of these changes greatly impact professional strategies.
Infinity Ward recently released a newCall of Duty: Modern Warfareupdate, and while it’s not the Season 4 update that fans have been waiting for, the game received twonew mapsto play on. While those maps are great content editions for players, pro players also received higher performance servers than they had previously for their practice scrims. Along with those additions, some of the pros have found that the update changed more features than they were told, and it’s affecting the way they play the game.

With the new update also came new spawn changes which players were not told about before hand. While this may not see like a big deal, professional teams create and follow game plans that revolve around spawn points. To make a change this drastic to team strategy without letting professional players know is like if theNFLdidn’t tell players that it was moving the field goal posts. On top of this change, the newCall of Dutyupdate also brought with it a bug that keeps Trophy Systems from working. This bug affects all players, not just the professional ones.
Many professional players have taken to Twitter to speak out about these silent changes. Players from professional organizations expressed their displeasure at finding out about the spawn changes when they logged onto the game with everyone else instead of being told before the update so they could prepare for it. The Trophy System bug is also hindering their play. Changes are encouraged for the game, but players don’t like when they’re enacted like this update has done. WhileCall of Dutyproscan quickly come up with their own guidelines after large changes, they would prefer that the adjustments to the game would happen in a more transparent way.
With theSeason 4 updatecoming soon, hopefully Infinity Ward will use this to fix the new bug, and the company will remember their relationship with the game’s professional players when these changes occur in the future.
