Call of Duty: Modern WarfareSeason 2 starts on February 11, and just withSeason 1, it’s expected to bring some new maps to the game. What these maps are remain to be seen, but fans are expecting a mix of brand new ones and remakes of fan favorites. One map that it seems manyModern Warfarefans want to see in particular is the popularModern Warfare 2map Favela, with one Reddit user offering to donate to charity to get the map into the game.
Reddit user aldo_rayne has offered to donate $100 to The Favela Foundation if Infinity Ward brings Favela to the newModern Warfaregame. aldo_rayne’s post has over 12,000 upvotes and over 140 comments at the time of this writing, indicating that there would be manyCall of Dutyplayers who would be willing to donate to charity to see this happen.

However, not all of the comments on aldo_rayne’s post are positive. There are many who express concern about Infinity Ward bringing Favela toCall of Duty: Modern Warfare, as they are worried that the studio will “ruin” it by adding doors and new camping spots. Fans have had similar complaints about remade maps likeCall of Duty 4’s Crash, which many were disappointed with.
Even if Favela wouldn’t be exactly the same asCall of Duty: Modern Warfarefans remember, it would at least add some more variety to theModern Warfaremap rotation. And while Crash was met with quite a bit of backlash, the Shipment remake has been generally well-received as being mostly accurate to the original version of the map. Its popularity has seenShipment 24/7 playlistsconsistently available inModern Warfare’s online multiplayer arenas, though it has its own issues.
Since Favela isn’t a super-small map like Shipment, it seems likely that Infinity Ward would be able to avoid any major spawn issues. OtherModern Warfarebugscould rear their head, but Infinity Ward has generally been quick to address the game’s various technical problems. And while some may not like the potential changes that would be made to the Favela map design, others would argue that having a remixed version of Favela in the game would be better than no Favela at all.
While it’s up in the air if Favela will ever come toCall of Duty: Modern Warfare, we know that a different fan favoriteMW2map will be making its way to the game. It’s been confirmed thatRust is coming toModern Warfare, and hopefully more details on that come sooner rather than later.
