However,Call of Dutyreleased a series of hotfixes over the following 24 hours that fixed most of the update’s major issues. Many fans were curious as to what led to the game’s most broken state in recent memory, and they may be interested to hearCall of Duty’s explanation.
In a post made to Raven Software’s Twitter account, the studio explained that “We’ve been laying the groundwork for the return of some fan favorite features in upcoming seasons.” Raven further explained that in preparation for the coming features, it has begun adding parts of these future updates toCall of Duty. The Season 1 Reloaded update shipped with some of that code, which led to a conflict between live player data andCall of Dutyservers, which then led to the update’s major issues. Raven detailed that it began working on solutions to the new bugs almost immediately, and received help from development teams around the world torelease theCall of Dutyhotfixes. Raven, which focuses onCall of Duty: Warzone, has teased some interesting features coming to the game soon, which may have been the culprits for the game’s recent problems.
In a following tweet, Raven revealed one of the features coming toWarzonein the future. The tweet contained an image ofwhat appears to beWarzone’s Specialist Bonus perk, which was removed from the game over a year ago. This perk package grants users every perk in the game, and will presumably be an extremely rare loot item like it was last time. Raven did not hint at when the perk might be released, but users could see its re-introduction alongside another fan-favorite feature returning in 2024.
