Tacked onto the very end of the latest “This Week at Bungie” was a clarification to players regarding a “slight error” that was published on the company’s website aboutDestiny 2.
Apparently, some confusion has arisen about the status of theIron Bannerbounties and if they would be removed at the end of the latest Season ofDestiny 2. According to Bungie, they most certainly will not.

Bounties that are completed at any point during this current season will be preserved until after therelease ofDestiny 2’s next expansion,The Witch Queen. However, there are some other caveats to keep in mind though. Any bounties retained fromSeason of the Lostwill be capped at 1350 Power, and they won’t give players any bonus Power in the next season once they are turned in. Additionally, these bounties will be removed at the end of Season 16.
Last but not least, players keeping track should know that the final season ofIron Bannerwill occur during thefinal week ofSeason of the Lost. Furthermore, all bounties related to Season of the Hunt, Season of the Chosen, Season of the Splicer, and Season of the Lost, as well as the Tangled Shore destination, will also be done away with at the end of the season.
For those players who may still be confused or worried about losing game rewards, Bungie suggests if players have bounties, they should turn them in beforea new year ofDestinycontenthits the servers.
Recently, YouTuber Skarrow9 posted an explanation about what may have been the cause of the confusion. In Bungie’sDestiny 2: Iron Bannerguide, under the heading of “Vital Information” is a statement that says Iron Banner bounties would expire at the end of the Iron banner event. It goes on to explain that players can keep them in inventory until the next season, but that they would be removed.
According to Skarrow9, this has been listed like this in the guide going back as far as 2019, but Bungie never removed the bounties. And based on the statement from Bungie, it sounds like that’s not going to change.
The new “TWAB” also talks about a variety of other topics, such as changes tohow players will gain Power whenThe Witch Queenlaunches, changes to blue drops, a new Witch Queen raid that players will be able to participate in starting on March 5 at 10:00 AM Pacific (18:00 UTC), and also lists what was included in the newly released hotfix to address crashes that were happening inGambitandDares of Eternity.
