According to some big-name insiders, developer Rockstar scrapped production of the long-awaitedBully 2in order to focus onGrand Theft Auto 6. Fans have been waiting for a sequel to the 2006 titleBullysince it’s release, but it appears they will have to continue waiting.

ForGrand Theft Autofans, this is actually good news, meaningGrand Theft Auto 6could be coming out much sooner than previously thought. For fans of the 2006 classicBully, though, this comes as a major disappointment. Production onGrand Theft Auto 6taking up resources isbad news for fans of other games, includingRed Dead Redemption 3. IfGrand Theft Auto 6is the biggest priority for Rockstar, that means other titles will be taking a backseat for the foreseeable future.

Notable Rockstar leaker Tez2 dropped the news on the GTA Forums that back in 2017, Rockstar canceled production onBully 2.This is the second time the game has allegedly been canceled, as it was said to be in development and then canceled in 2010, as well. The reason for the most recent cancellation seems to be to focus on the next installment of theGrand Theft Autofranchise. Another notable insider, Yan2295 responded to the claims saying that Tez2 was right. However, as with all leaks, until concrete proof comes out, these claims are all justrumors and speculation about what Rockstar is doing.

ManyGrand Theft Autofans are currentlyglad to see Rockstar take its time withGTA 6. After the recent and disastrous release ofCyberpunk 2077, manyGTAfans would rather wait patiently instead of Rockstar releasing an unfinished product. In the case ofGTA 6though, the game hasn’t been officially announced or given a release date, so players are more or less left in the dark regarding where the game is in the production pipeline.

Some fans think RockstarteasedGTA 6in the trailer for the Cayo Perico Heist. The recent release of that update does hint towards Rockstar not being done withGTA Online, though. Without a developer response and with conflicting theories out there, fans of Rockstar’s games are left to wonder what the next releases will actually be.

Rockstar is certainly busy managing players' expectations. Sequels such asBully 2,Grand Theft Auto 6, andRed Dead Redemption 3are all very much wanted by players. With seven years of development passing sinceGTA 5’s release, it’s yet to be seen what thenext entry in theGrand Theft Autoseries will look like.

Grand Theft Auto 6has yet to be announced but is rumored to be in development.
