The most obvious source ofcompetition for The Lake Housewill come fromSilent Hill 2. In 2023, Alan Wake 2 shifted its release date to avoid competition from major titles such asSpider-Man 2and time will tell whether Remedy will resort to release date shifting once again.
There is also theVessel of Hatred DLC forDiablo 4to consider. It is set to release on October 8, a little earlier than the release date forLife is Strange: Double Exposure, which is hitting shelves on October 29. IfAlan Wake 2’s DLC arrives in October, it’ll be sharing the stage with a litany of titles in different genres.

SinceControl’s DLC,players have been exposed to the Remedy Connected Universe, which features the worlds ofControlandAlan Wakecolliding. With Jesse Faden making an appearance in the Night Springs DLC, players are reasonably expecting The Lake House to make connections between Faden and Wake’s world. This could leave The Lake House sitting in the shadow ofControl 2.
Remedy has already knocked it out of the park with Night Springs, demonstrating thatAlan Wake 2’s DLCs are more than mere side content. Now all eyes are on The Lake House which will almost certainly expand the Remedy Connected Universe.
