2019’sAvengers: Endgameconcluded the Infinity Saga on a high note, leaving many fans wondering when the next large ensemble with so many heroes will occur in the MCU. Luckily, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige recently opened up aboutAvengers 5, hinting that it may already be in motion.
In a recent interview with Collider discussing the future of the MCU and its newly releasedShang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Feige also addressed when fans could expect the next team up inAvengers 5. “We want there to be a reasonable amount of time from theEndgameto start a new saga, which is already underway and already started. Then you need some time as we did in phase one to build that saga before you start bringing everybody together,” he said.

Avengers: Endgamenot only concluded theInfinity Saga but wrapped up many beloved character arcs that ran throughout those first three phases. Of the main Avengers group that first appeared in the 2012 box office hit, Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man and Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow both passed away after the ongoing battle with Thanos, while Chris Evans' Captain America decided to grow old with the love of his life (Hayley Atwell’s Peggy Carter). He would then pass his iconic shield down to his close friend,Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson/Falcon. As those characters have passed on, it’s not a surprise that a new team will be formed.
Since phase 4 is heading in bold and exciting directions with concepts involving the multiverse and deep space, it will be exciting to witness the new heroes who will eventually fill the roles as the new Avengers.Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Ringsis already receiving rave reviews from critics, as much of the praise is for Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi, who looks to be a crucial component to the new Avengers team. The upcomingEternalswill revolve around an immortal alien racethat was created by the Celestials and has been living secretly on Earth for thousands of years. The New Disney Plus shows have also been able to introduce new characters (like Monica Rambeau inWandaVision) while expanding on the arcs of familiar ones, paving the way for new rising heroes. AFantastic Fourreboot has also been announced, withSpider-Man: No Way Homedirector Jon Watts helming the project.
