Since the day it was revealed,Assassin’s Creed Valhallahas seemed ready to bridge both the newRPG style of Origins and Odyssey with olderACgames. Social Stealth, Insta-kill hidden blade, and more features have been revealed that bridge that divide, but in a recent interview, yet another one has been revealed.
Speaking to Eurogamer, Ubisoft Montreal Level Designer David Bolle detailed thesettlement inAssassin’s Creed Valhalla,Ravensthorpe. Everything from the Aviary where the player’s raven can be customized to the tattooist was detailed, and in Ravensthorpe, Bolle confirmed that there will be Assassin bureaus.

Technically speaking, it is a Hidden Ones bureau whereAC Valhallaprotagonist Eivorcan pick up assassination targets. Many may recall that the last time they were featured heavily was in the very first game, as Altair had to report to various bureaus to receive his targets. It did appear after the Hidden Ones were founded inAssassin’s Creed Originsand one could even be seen inBlack Flag, but given that it seems to play a vital role toAC Valhalla’s story, this is the biggest inclusion of a bureau in a long time.
Given that it comes before AC1 and afterOrigins, it’s not that big of a surprise that they exist, but to have one in Eivor’s camp is another thing.Assassin’s Creed Valhallaintroduced fans to Basim not that long ago, but the Hidden Ones bureau will be staffed by a man named Hytham who has a board of targets for fans to hunt down. How big of a role it plays remains to be seen, but it seems like this will be the manner in which Eivor assassinates targets and thus becomes one of the Hidden Ones, with the targets operating in a manner similar toOrigins' Order of the Ancients andOdyssey’s Cult of Kosmos.
With just a month to go untilAssassin’s Creed Valhallais playable worldwide, fans can expect Ubi devs to feed more info to the community. For example, Raventhorpe and the Hidden Ones Bureau are the latest reveal, but not that long ago, an art director confirmed thatAsgard will be inAC Valhalla. How exactly remains to be seen, but all of these locations seemingly connect to the greater lore of the franchise: the Assassin-Templar Conflict, the Isu, and more.
Assassin’s Creed Valhallareleases November 10 for PC, PS4, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X, with a PS5 release on November 12.
