Fresh of the heels ofLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga’srelease, fans ofLEGOgames are looking to what Traveller’s Tales will create next. Some fans are hoping that it is a game following the events of the MCU, some want it to be a return to original stories likeLEGO City Undercover, and some want it to be an entirely new franchise. Perhaps one of the most likely candidates for aLEGOgame would be a return toHarry Potterand the Wizarding World.
Back in 2010, Traveller’s Tales took a trip to the world ofHarry Potterthrough two separate games.LEGO Harry Potter Years 1-4kickstarted this adventure by adapting the first fourHarry Potterfilms with the tried and true LEGO style. A year later, Traveller’s Tales continued theHarry Potteradventures by adapting the final four films withLEGO Harry Potter Years 5-7. Since then, loads of new Wizarding World content has expanded upon the story that has yet to receive any sort of LEGO adaptation. Warner Brothers just released the thirdFantastic Beastsmovie and wants to double down onHarry Pottercontent, and that leaves a lot of content just begging to be turned into LEGOs.

LEGO Harry Potter Was a Lot of Fun
LEGO Harry Potter Years 1-4andYears 5-7were very similar titles filled with the classic LEGO gameplay. Neither title had any voice acting as they came out well before Traveller’s Tales added voice acting to the series withLEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes. Instead, the story was told with a series of grunts and visual gags that would have fans chuckling throughout. Both titles used Diagon Alley and The Leaky Cauldron as hub worlds similar to the Cantina inLEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga. The games also let players explore Hogwarts which would change with every movie.
The gameplay ofthe twoLEGO Harry Pottergameswas similar but also very different to other LEGO games. The levels and puzzles were constructed much like other LEGO titles. The biggest spin to the gameplay came in the form of the spells that players would unlock. Players would utilize various spells like WIngardium Leviosa and Accio to progress through the story. Along with the spell casting, players could also make potions by collecting various ingredients dotted around the level.
TheLEGO Harry Pottergames also included school classes as a gameplay feature. Throughout the story, players would attend various classes like Defense Against the Dark Arts and Charms. These classes would teach the player different spells and were separate from the actual levels of the game. It made the player feellike they were actually attending Hogwarts, and it is a feature that madeLEGO Harry Potterfeel distinct from the other LEGO games of the time.
LEGO Wizarding World Could Be Even More Fun
Since the release of the twoLEGO Harry Pottergames, three movies have been added to the Wizarding World withFantastic Beasts. While the first one gotan adaptation throughLEGO Dimensions, the other two have yet to receive the LEGO treatment. Recently, Traveller’s Tales has shown that it can put nine different films into one title. Gone are the days whenLEGO Harry Potterwould have to be split into two separate titles, and adding three more films to the mix would only make the LEGO Wizarding World title two films larger thanLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
A LEGO Wizarding World title wouldbring players back to Hogwartswith a fresh coat of paint. The hub worlds would be expanded and more could even be added, like the addition of the Ministry of Magic and the inside of Newt Scamander’s briefcase. Traveller’s Tales could craft a large scale fully explorable Hogwarts that fans of the franchise could get lost in. The story could also be fully realized versions of theFantastic Beaststrilogy and brand-new versions of theHarry Potterseries accompanied by full voice acting. It could be the definitiveHarry Potterexperience, and would be a perfect piece to accompanyHogwarts Legacy.
Traveller’s Tales shook up its entire formula withLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Sagaand it could bring those innovations to the Wizarding World. The last time it took a trip there with a standalone title was in 2011, and since then there has been even more films for fans to enjoy. Crafting a fully fledgedLEGOtitle in the Wizarding World seems like the perfect next step, and it would be just the thing thatHarry Potterfans need.
