A lance with a low weapon rank requirement to wield, while javelins tend to have slightly below average hit rates (though they range from game to game), javelins can be thrown from afar. This allows units such as cavaliers to fight from a distance, reducing their risk of receiving damage in higher difficulties of variousFire Emblemgames.

9The Delphi Shield

Though the Delphi Shield is not an offensive piece of equipment, it provides an excellent benefit that can improve classes that are already superb.

Across the series, flying classes such asPegasus Knights and Wyvern Ridersare often viewed as some of the strongest classes in the game due to their unparalleled mobility. However, this stellar mobility has always come at the expense of a glaring weakness to bows.

6Wing Spear

Appearing inFire Emblem: Shadow DragonandFire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem, the Wing Spear is the personal weapon of the Pegasus Knight, Caeda.

While many personal weapons in the series tend to have limited usefulness due to their finite amount of uses, players are capable of obtaining numerous Wing Spears, allowing them to continuously dominate opponents over the course ofShadow Dragon.

Luckily, the player’s avatar character inFire Emblem: Three Houses, Byleth has access to a personal weapon that patches up this weakness. A potent sword with high damage output, the Sublime Sword of the Creator can attack foes from afar. Additionally, this sword also gives Byleth access to the Ruptured Heaven combat art, that allows Byleth to spend additional uses of the weapon in order to dish out additional damage when in a pinch. This can be especially helpful when trying to play safely in the game’s “Maddening Mode.”

A piece of equipment that was added toFire Emblem: Three Housesin it’sCindered ShadowsDLC, the Chalice of Beginnings is an incredibly helpful defensive piece of equipment.

The Warp Staff is easily the most effective piece of equipment in theFire Emblemseries, ranging from excellent to flat out broken depending on which game it appears in.

A staff that usually requires a high ranking in Staves to wield, the Warp Staff can teleport another unit to a different space on the map. While in more recent entries in the series, the range in which Warp can move a unit is dictated by the stave’s wielder’s magic stat, in the first five games in the series, the Warp Staff can move an ally to virtually any space on the map, allowing for numerous forms of degenerate and game-braking strategies.
